MOVING ON MUSIC VIDEO
MOVING ON MUSIC VIDEO
“Moving On” was the first step in reintroducing A R I Z O N A — not just as a band, but as a concept, a place, and a feeling. Set against the surreal, sweeping backdrop of Arizona’s landscapes, the music video marked a deliberate shift toward emotional vulnerability, minimalism, and authenticity.
My approach to editing music videos is grounded in the belief that narrative must move in step with musicality. Drawing from my background in music production, I treat the edit like a session — "comping" together performances across the arrangement, the way a producer would compile vocal takes. This method gives us flexibility and precision in emotional pacing, letting the story evolve with the music’s dynamics. In Moving On, I used reframing techniques in post to simulate multiple angles from single shots — punching in to create visual variation and continuity without relying on additional coverage. AI upscaling was used extensively to preserve image fidelity on otherwise discarded takes, allowing creative choices to guide the cut rather than technical limitations. The result is a video that feels intimate, intentional, and rhythmically alive.

As internal creative director, I shepherded the brand voice into a new era, translating personal band narratives into symbolic, cinematic imagery. In collaboration with director Owen Brown and land artist Jim Denevan, we created a visual meditation where memory and landscape fused—a physical, emotional, and metaphorical act of “moving on.”
